Dr Srinivas Ramaka talks about the “CPR Procedure” video that will inform the general public.

What is sudden cardiac
arrest?
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a medical emergency that occurs when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. This condition can be fatal if not treated immediately. During SCA, the heart’s electrical system malfunctions, causing an abnormal heart rhythm known as ventricular fibrillation. This irregular rhythm prevents the heart from pumping blood effectively, which can lead to a lack of oxygen in the body’s organs and tissues.

Difference between sudden
cardiac arrest and heart attack
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and heart attack are two distinct medical conditions that affect the heart. While they can have similar symptoms and risk factors, they are different in their causes and outcomes.
A heart attack occurs when there is a blockage in one or more of the arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. This blockage can cause a portion of the heart muscle to become damaged or die if blood flow is not restored quickly. Symptoms of a heart attack can include chest pain or discomfort, shortness of breath, nausea, lightheadedness, or discomfort in other areas of the upper body, such as the arms, back, neck, or jaw.
On the other hand, sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) occurs when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating due to an abnormal heart rhythm. This condition can be caused by a variety of factors, including underlying heart disease, electrolyte imbalances, drug or alcohol abuse, or a blow to the chest. Symptoms of SCA include sudden loss of consciousness, lack of breathing, and lack of pulse.
